Project Brief
To creative ‘active’ drying solutions where minimal energy is consumed during the use phase, drying performance, maintained and overall environmental impacts minimised, in addition to safety and convenience. Design proposals must address environmental impacts through consideration of 'Design for Environment' criteria such as material selection, finishes, longevity, robustness, design for disassembly and repair, end of life and energy efficiency.
A sustainable design proposition detailing the potential sustainable gains, based on research will be developed. Exploring both the efficient use of energy and alternative energy sources is encouraged to reduce the environmental impacts especially in the use phase.
The PAVO dryer is made from recycled materials and is powered by the compressed heat that is produced in the composting food process.
